Jessica Simpson stops by Ellen DeGeneres, talks the imminent birth of her daughter

What with all the rumors about her pregnancy and due date making the rounds right now, Jessica Simpson wants everybody to just chill: even though she's already having contractions, she won't be giving birth for another few weeks, she says.

The heavily pregnant star, who is now promoting her latest televised endeavor, a fashion show with Nicole Richie, stopped by Ellen DeGeneres for an interview.

Video of it is below, embedded at the end of the article.

In between being showered with ridiculous presents and digging into the treats Ellen had prepared especially for her, Jessica also talked about her baby, her due date and the name she and fiancé Eric Johnson have picked out.

“I have some weeks. I really do. It's not like tomorrow,” Jessica says, admitting that, indeed, she looks as if she's ready to give birth any moment now, as Ellen notes.

“I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things,” the star says.

“It's like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I'm prepared. It's scary. It's like oh god, this can happen right now,” Jessica further says.

She also reveals that she will most likely have a natural birth (so no C-section as rumored in the tabloids), by simply saying “It will hurt very badly.”

In the same interview, Simpson says she and Eric have already picked out a name, one that they will only make public once the child is born.

Whenever they're talking to the baby, they use her name – and she always responds to it, she says.

“We've been calling her by her name. She reacts to it. I could be one of those psycho moms that just thinks one little kick... is her really listening to me,” she says laughing.

Just in case the happy parents to be will have a change of heart about the name of their first daughter, Ellen has just the thing: a celebrity baby name generator that can come up with the funniest and unique names one would ever imagine.
