Acturion's Victum Tablet 8 is a full ruggedized Table PC designed for use in an industrial or outdoors environment and it features a color display fully readable in direct sunlight. To maximize its easiness of use, the manufacturing company designed the Victum Tablet 8 to be operated with a digitizer pen or through a pressure sensitive Touch Screen. When the Acturion company designed this Table PC they took the job seriously and came up with a hardware equipment that meets the requirements of the IP 54 protection
class. The fact that the Victum Tablet 8 is also certified against the military standard MIL-STD810F does not hurt either the company's attempt to attract customers that need resilient IT equipment.

According to the Acturion company, this Tablet PC can be operated in a very wide range of temperatures, between -20 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees and in humidities ranging from 10 percent to 90 percent non condensing. In order to offer something more that a fully proofed shock, moisture, dust and temperature abacus, Acturion integrated some "state-of-the-art Intel mobile CPU Technology like Centrino 1.2GHz" in its product. For a computing systems that is designed to be used on the fly, it features some impressive hardware parts like the Intel Pentium M processor running at a frequency of 1.2GHz that has a 2MB level two cache memory and is linked to the rest of the system by a frontside bus clocked at 400MHz. The mainboard is centered around the Intel 915GM chipset that acts as a Northbridge, while the Southbridge function is taken by the ICH6-M chip. The RAM of this Tablet PC is pretty standard SODIMM and as it comes with 256MB of second generation DRAM memory and can be expanded to 1280MB, users will not have to go and search for long for some exotic memory type.

Not meant for any gaming, the Acturion's Victum Tablet 8 uses the simple 945GM integrated graphics solution that shares up to 32MB of video memory from the system's RAM, while the display is conforming with the SVGA standard and has an 8.4 inch size. Storage space was not forgotten and the small Tablet PC gets a standard 2.5-inch hard disk drive of 40GB and optional an 80GB disk with a heater is available. As with any modern day IT system, some connectivity options that include two USB ports, networking ports and storage expansion slots are available to the Acturion's Victum Tablet 8 too.
