Despite reports to the contrary, Olivia Newton John has not had plastic surgery. In a frank interview with the Daily Mail, the “Grease” star says she believes a smile is “the best facelift,” and a happy life the key to beauty.

Considered one of the most beautiful and charming actresses to hit the big screen at that time, Olivia still retains her youthful smile and exudes the same kind of confidence she did back in the day.

Considering the things she says about how she lives her life, it's no wonder she's always so upbeat: she never dieted a single day in her life, keeps very active without straining herself, and has never turned to plastic surgery.

“I haven’t succumbed [to plastic surgery], despite the fact there is obviously more pressure on people in the public eye to look good. I think eating well, and being positive and happy, are the best ways to stay young. A smile is the best facelift,” the star says in the interview.

She admits her biggest guilty pleasure is dark chocolate, but even on this one she's covered since countless studies have shown that it's actually good for one's health, if consumed in moderation.

Dieting is a strange notion to the slender Olivia. Still, she does keep an eye on what she eats, just to make sure she doesn't go overboard.

“My weight has been pretty constant since my 20s, and never fluctuates by more than a few pounds. I weigh about 9 st [126 pounds / 57.1 kg], which is about right for my height (5ft 6in). If I eat too much one day, I’ll restrict myself the next,” she explains.

“I’m pretty fit for my age. I’m a great believer in getting outdoors and doing a bit of exercise every day, whether it’s going for a run or just taking a walk,” Olivia adds.

In the same interview, the actress opens up on her cancer battle and is happy to announce she's been in the clear for the past 20 years.

She never had any other serious medical issues and she believes in alternative medicine as well, having turned to it when she was battling breast cancer.
