Two new Samsung handsets are set to arrive on shelves at AT&T with Google's Android operating system in the near future, namely Captivate Glide and DoubleTime, both just unveiled to the world.

Both of them offer support for various Google Mobile services, including Search, Gmail, YouTube, or Maps, and both feature QWERTY keyboards for fast typing while on the go.

The Samsung Captivate Glide arrives at AT&T with support for the wireless carrier's 4G network, as well as with a powerful 1GHz dual-core application processor packed inside.

The new device is based on Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, and sports a large 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen display, complemented by a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H dual core processor it packs inside is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 1GB of ROM, along with an 8GB internal microSD (expandable to 32GB).

It also packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording, and a 1.3MP camera on the front, great for video calling.

The new mobile phone also packs Mobile Device Management (MDM), along with device and SD card encryption, as well as enhanced Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) to sync email, contacts, calendar and tasks.

“For the business professional, the Captivate Glide has enhanced Exchange ActiveSync support for IT policies, task synchronization and global address lookup. Know your information and network are secured with virtual private network access and device encryption,” AT&T explains.

As for the Samsung DoubleTime, we should note that it packs a dual touch screen, along with a full flip keyboard. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm 600 MHz application processor.

The specifications list of the new device also includes: 3.2” full touch screen display with 320 x 480 and 480 x 320 (HVGA) resolution, microSD memory card that supports up to 32GB (2GB microSD card included); and Android 2.2 (Froyo).

“Running on Android 2.2, DoubleTime boasts a white and pink color scheme and features a 3.2 MP digital camera with a camcorder, voice recognition, a dedicated function key for shortcuts, drag-and-drop widgets, five scrolling home screens and an expandable menu with scrolling panels,” AT&T notes.
