Mobile computing devices are very popular these days, and while most computer users are more than happy with a notebook, laptop or a tablet PC, there are those that demand the ultimate mobile computing experience. And so the UMPC was born. The ultra mobile PC is the lighter version of the smallest laptop or tablet out there as everything is centered around one major
consideration: mobility.

The Raon's Everun UMPC is one of those ultra portable computing systems and it is packed with features and capabilities. One of the most important of them is the ability to flip the display mode for vertical or horizontal viewing and the switching between modes is done automatically depending on the unit's position. While not heaving the power of a real laptop, the ultra mobile computer comes equipped with a low power consumption AMD Geode processor that reaches a frequency of 500MHz and a system memory of 384MB. Despite these rather low performance hardware parts, the Raon's Everun UMPC is able to run Microsoft's Windows XP well, without any major problems. For users demanding more computing power, a faster 600MHz Geode CPU is also available.

The system comes with integrated Bluetooth and wireless network adapters so connectivity with both WiFi networks and the latest communication devices like cell phones is ensured. The software suites installed on it give users the ability to access emails and all kinds of documents as well as Web surfing and multimedia files. Another good point for the Raon's Everun UMPC is the fact that the battery life reaches up to five hours of standard use and the whole unit is kept cool by a smart passive cooling system. The downside of the ultra portable computer system is the keyboard, as it is tiny and may be difficult to use. The Raon's Everun UMPC is available from online stores and it comes with a price tag of $1000, which is right in the middle of the pricing range for UMPC systems.
