The number of casual gamers keeps growing on a daily basis and developers are striving to keep up with the pace, while trying to create viable solutions to attract as many people as possible. However, we all know that, usually, there are just a few casual game
concepts cloned over and over again - and the more copies exist, the less fun they all become for those who have at least basic gaming experience. That's when innovation comes into play and probably has the power to separate the winners from the losers.

One of the winners could be Funtactix' first product, Moondo, a virtual game world created specifically for gamers, which mixes the concept of MMO releases with the fun and lower time requirements of casual gaming. In other words, according to the developers, one of the biggest problems with casual games is the fact that, once the gaming experience is over, all the achievements are gone, too. On the other hand, in MMOGs, players work their way up the charts by improving their skills and keeping all the rewards given to them. However, the biggest drawback here is the time consumption factor: you need tens to hundreds of hours to achieve a leet status in such games. And not everybody has so much time.

Moondo will bring a number of multiplayer casual minigames featuring 3D graphics and a gameplay time of about 15 to 20 minutes (even though there are more levels and, if you wish, you can spend hours with one game). Also, it brings in a reward system that offers players random items which can be used in other games, offering advantages, just like in regular MMOs. And this could be exactly what the casual gaming world needed!

The Moondo virtual world is still at start, offering just two games (a FPS and a racing title) but the developers promise to deliver a brand new game every eight weeks. If you are interested in trying these things, head over to the official website.
