Partnerships seem to be very popular these days, especially when it comes to partnerships between mobile phone manufacturers or carriers and fashion designers.

The newest fashion phone to emerge from such a partnership is the Sony Ericsson K510i that was designed by Julien MacDonald and will be available through Orange.

The fashion designer has stripped the K510i of its monotone looks and replaced it with something extremely colorful, somewhat crazy and very floral.

Frankly, it reminds me of one of those Volkswagen hippie vans covered in colorful flowers, and the handset should go nicely with most young users that are looking for a more out of the ordinary phone to color up their lives. "The print I decided to use for the SonyEricsson K510i was taken from my spring summer 07 collection," explains Julien. "The print was inspired by exotic flowers, Orchids in particular, so thought it would be perfect for the spring launch of this handset."

The flowery handset isn't all about the looks and packs up some pretty useful features including a 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom, flash and video recording capabilities, a 256k color display with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, 28MB internal memory, IrDA and Bluetooth for connectivity.

The k510i is also a pretty fun device offering Java games, a media player with support for quite a few file types, both audio and video MusicDj for creating your own ringtones and MMS support for sharing photos with your friends and family. The ones that want to get themselves a Sony Ericsson K510i designed by Julien MacDonald, can find it at their local Orange store for ?44.99 on pay as you go.
