In an era when convergence is what everybody's talking about when referring to mobile phones, the launch of a new model could seem unimportant. However, Motorola MPx has some qualities that make it stand out from the crowd.

Although it might seem just another smart phone running Windows, the new tri-band MPx model offers some very interesting innovations, at least regarding its form and range of use.

The phone includes what we could already consider "standard" features for such a device, as for example radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.2 megapixel digital camera with a flash and a memory extension slot for SD/MMC cards up to 1GB.

But the most important novelty is the dual opening system the phone is fitted with. The folder has a unique dual hinge that allows the MPx to be opened lengthwise like a clamshell phone or in a horizontal manner like an old two-way pager. This forms part of the MOTOPro Form Factor, which according to the company helps to facilitate versatile handling of the smart phone for telephony, organizer and messaging functions.

Motorola MPx is compatible with all the Pocket PC applications, which can be accessed very easily either by means of the multifunctional QWERTY keyboard or by simply working directly on the touch screen.

The new Motorola model is quite an interesting one, and we're looking forward to try one for ourselves. If you want to know more about its technical characteristics, please visit http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=1432&cid=24&pg=1
