A New Side to the KISS Bassist

Following closely the steps of Ozzy Osbourne and the Carter brothers, another big star is to reveal an unknown side to his personal life. Gene Simmons, the legendary KISS bassist, so rarely saw without his make-up and/or his tongue hanging out, has accepted to star in his own reality show.

Stripped of his on-stage persona, Simmons proves to be, unlike most of other celebrities, a stand up person and father. He is to star in 'The Simmons Family Jewels' with his partner for more than 24 years and the two children they share: Nick, 17, and Sophie, 14.

Despite what anyone might think of the crazy wacko that uses to spit blood during live performances, Gene is only your actual regular next-door guy. His family, although not united by any legal or religious bonds (the artist and the former Playboy bunny refused to get married in order to avoid getting divorced) represents quite an adhesive little universe of its own.

The children were raised to pay attention to the essentials of life and not to get caught up with such trivia as 'pick your clothes off the floor' or 'go and comb your hair'. Ever since they were little, they learned that their only 'job' is to keep up the good work in school and to stay clear of drugs and alcohol.

Simmons says that he lives by the same unwritten rules that govern his family's life: 'I've never been high, drunk, never smoked in my life'. Unbelievable? For sure... But, still, the new show, 'The Simmons Family Jewels', to start airing soon on A&E might be worth our attention, after all.
