BenQ announced the launch of a new range of computer monitors, all based on the LCD technology, targeting both the high end and the home users markets. This new range is called the E Series and it offers 13 LCD monitors ranging from the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio to the widescreen 16:9 display format. As all new generation LCD monitors, these too feature a fast response time of only 5ms and thanks to the BenQs proprietary Senseye+Photo Technology and powerful LED ambient illumination, they allow users a much wider viewing angle of up to
170 degrees.

According to the company's press release concerning the E Series of LCD monitors, the Senseye+Photo Technology integrated into these monitors offers many preset modes for different situations and usage scenarios that include the Standard, Dynamic, Movie, Photo and sRGB mode. The E Series LCD monitors that use the 4:3 aspect ratio come in two standard form factors: the 17-inch for the models E700, E700A and E700N, and the 19 inch one for the models E900, E900A and E900N. Regardless of their form factor, those monitors offer 800:1 contrast ratios, and 300 cd/m2 brightness levels. Monitors like the E700A have only a VGA connector, while the rest of the series comes with dual DVIs too. The N suffix for this series means that no speakers are attached to the monitor, while all the other models use standard one watt stereo speakers.

The widescreen format (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD monitors from BenQ's E Series come as the following models E900W, E900WA and E900WN and they are using the 19 inch form factor and a lower 700:1 contrast ratio, while the bigger monitor formats are named E2000WA (20 inch panel and a 1000:1 contrast ration) and E2200W, E2200WA and E2000W that come with 22 or 24 inch forms.

Apart from BenQs proprietary Senseye+Photo Technology, all the monitors from the E Series support an enhanced sRGB mode that is used to accurately display on-screen colors for "for precise color editing", while being totally compliant with the industry-standard sRGB color space. Using this mode, customers will have the ability to achieve color consistency when using "sRGB-compliant devices such as digital camera, scanner and printer".
