A New Partnership: Imation and Marketlink

Imation announced that it will enter a partnership with Marketlink Services in order to accelerate the market penetration and acceptance of its latest family of products, the Imation RDX removable hard disk drives. While Imation is a hardware manufacturing company, its partner, Marketlink, is a company focused on sales and marketing services for computer hardware manufacturers.

As Imation will provide the hardware products, in this case the RDX removable hard disk drives, so will Marketlink provide a sales team in order to develop relations with resellers and end users. "Imation's robust RDX solution is ideal for small business backup and restore," said Dan Dempsey, the president of Marketlink Services, who was cited in the Imation press release. "We are excited to add this smart and secure removable hard disk technology to our portfolio of industry leading computer products."

Imation designed and manufactured the RDX removable hard disk drives for small and medium businesses in order to provide them with an enterprise class protection and data back up solution. Apart from the removable drives, the Imation RDX solution also integrates a docking station that is available with both external USB and internal Serial ATA support and which is designed to house 2.5 inch hard disk drives with extended shock and electrostatic discharge protections.

The top of the line Imation rugged storage solutions from Imation are available in 40, 80, 120 and 160GB capacities and they are specially designed and built in order to withstand falls from one meter while remaining fully functional and intact. In order to make it easier for customers to deploy and create backups of their critical information, Imation bundles with the RDX removable storage solution the EMC Retrospect software suite which is able to perform ''fast backups, accurate restores and full disaster recovery with minimal manual effort or expertise''.

The SMB intended removable storage RDX solution from Imation is now available from retail channels at a suggested price between $299 and $499, based on capacity in either of the two data transferring configurations, USB and Serial ATA.
