Toshiba just announced the launch of a new line of mobile computer systems and the three new laptops are now available under the Satellite U305 commercial designation. The new mobile computer systems from Toshiba are aimed at providing users with plenty of computing power as well as mobility.

The new line of Toshiba Satellite U305 starts with the U305-S7477 model that is bringing the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium operating systems and on the hardware side it is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 central processing unit that runs at 2GHz and has a 4MB of L3 cache memory and a 800MHz frontside bus. The two other Toshiba laptop versions are coming with the same operating system but they are also equipped with other processing units like the Core 2 Duo T5450 that runs at 1.66Ghz and the T2310 that comes with a clock speed of 1.46Ghz, 1MB of L2 cache and a 533Mhz FSB.

All three new Toshiba Satellite U305 mobile computer systems are coming equipped with 2GB of DDR2 random access memory that users may expand to a maximum of 4GB, while the storage options that are found installed on these laptops are ranging between 200GB and 160GB hard disk drives with 4200rpm and a fast Serial ATA data transferring interface. Also all three new laptops are coming with DVD optical units that are multi format compatible.

On the graphics side, the first thing that comes to mind is the rather small 13.3 inch widescreen display that supports nonetheless a native resolution of 1280x800 and it is backed up by the presence of an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 graphics card solution that can share from the main system memory between 64 and 256MB.

As connectivity options are very important all these new Toshiba laptops are coming equipped with wireless networking interfaces that range between the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN and the Atheros 802.11 b/g, while also supporting the Bluetooth protocol. These laptop systems are also coming with a fingerprint scanner as an additional security feature and they're priced between $949 and $1,299.
