AGP France and Martin France at their first joint strike

Few people know things about what's behind the glamour of concerts with glamorous artists like Christina Aguilera or Red Hot Chilly Peppers, especially when it comes to technical stuff and even fewer actually care for such rather uninteresting subjects. Nevertheless, since on my desk there is a small sign reading Audio Editor, it's my duty (as well as my true pleasure) to tell you some things about what's behind the artist...

Leave alone the tens or sometimes hundreds of people working their brains and muscles out to make all things run smooth; I'll tell you a bit about gear. All the lights and glamour would actually become less than nothing in the absence of sound, be that music or voice.

Sound comes from big loudspeakers and the better they are - the better the whole event sounds and the more appreciation is given to it, and good, big loudspeakers come from few companies around the worlds which battle for every inch of the market. Two such French producers decided that they have a lot more to win if they will go in alliance with each other than on their own.

APG France and Martin Professional France started a series of common projects at the end of the last year and announced that soon, the new joint force will present significant results. Now it's time for the competitors to face the new series of fixed installation loudspeaker series coming from the French team.

The MX4 speaker (12" sub/ 1" hi) was presented at the 2007 SIEL is the flagship but it does not come alone as the new line of subwoofers (TB 118S and TB215S) were released as components of a new speaker array for 2007. Further more, the Isoline ISL 210S, described by the manufacturers themselves as a line array of "high precision and long throw application" promises constant directivity of 90 degrees for sound ranging between 500Hz and 19kHz.

Stephane Roche form APG France stated that the alliance was based on logic principles as both companies work in the same field: "We talk the same language - we are both manufacturers," he said. Now, further releases are expected this year as the first common project threatens to be a success in the industry.

You can get further technical details on the websites of the two manufacturers.
