Coming towards the end of July

Square Enix is very busy working on the various Final Fantasy titles that are active at the moment. Recently, the publisher and developer announced a new MMO based on the game universe, Final Fantasy XIV, which is supposed to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

In addition, while also working on Final Fantasy XIII, the next single player Japanese role playing game for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, it has revealed that it plans to release a new add-on scenario for Final Fantasy XI.

The new content is called A Moogle Kupo d’Etat - Evil in Small Doses and is set to arrive at the end of July, along with an update for the MMO. Square Enix is saying that the add-on will be available for pre-order on July 5 and will sell for the equivalent of 9.99 Euro.

Those who are interested in getting A Moogle Kupo d’Etat, need to already have installed Rise of the Zilart, the first expansion pack for the game, and will get the chance to play a whole new adventure that is open to all those who are at least Level 10 in the MMO. The story is based around a nightmare scenario sparked by one drop of water and its fall on one ramshackle Mog House.

Players of Final Fantasy XI can look forward to the release of a third add-on scenario, called A Shantotto Ascension, that is set to arrive before the end of the year, but once that is done, it's pretty hard to believe that Square Enix, which will release Final Fantasy XIII worldwide in 2010, will have the time and manpower to release further content. Also, the impact of the launch of Final Fantasy XIV on its MMO predecessor is not clearly known.
