According to a recent poll carried out by consulting company Gallup, a mere 24% of all Americans are currently seriously worried about climate change and how it can affect human society and natural ecosystems.

Another 25% have been documented to worry about said phenomenon “a fair amount,” whereas the remaining 51% were found to be concerned either “a little” or “not at all.”

Ecorazzi tells us that, for the time being, the issues that Americans consider to be most pressing are the economy, federal spending and the budget deficit, and health care.

Interestingly enough, it was also discovered that Americans are also more worried about the quality of the environment than they are about climate change.

Besides, it would appear that the only thing that occupies their mind even less than this phenomenon does is race relations.

Specialists working with Gallup say that, after comparing the answers of Republicans to those of Democrats, they found that the first worry most about the economy and the government, whereas the latter express more concern about social issues.

“Thirty-six percent of Democrat-leaning respondents reporting that they worry a great deal about climate change. Only 10 percent of Republican-leaning respondents reported the same level of worry,” the company reportedly wrote in its report.
