A Magnetic USB Hub to Go Anywhere

Our desks grow more and more crowded with all sorts of things, despite the said technological improvements which should let us breathe more freely. And since most of the things which have practically invaded our lives are electronic, this means that we are in an almost permanent need of power outlets to keep them all running and I'm not speaking about the funny ones like the USB-coffee cup heaters, but about our PDAs and cell phones, MP3 players or iPods and the like.

Well, if you're the kind of guy who owns more than one mobile phone and are buried deep in technology, it might prove that the usual number of USB ports you get on your workstation is not enough for everything you plan to connect.

And this is where a USB hub comes in; yet the problem remains the same – space. You are definitely able to expand the number of USB ports but the space around you and by all means your desk will remain the same. All sorts of cables tangled and twisted around your feet are highly impracticable, hardly aesthetic and sometimes they can even become dangerous. Some order would indeed be more than welcome in all this small IT jungle, but where to get it?

The Magnetic 4-port USB Hub is a painfully simple connectivity gadget which will allow you to easily increase the number of available USB “holes” around you while at the same time keep things tidy. At least more tidy than without it. We're talking about a small plastic USB hub shaped like a three-arm star, offering both USB and Mini USB ports for your convenience; but the small magnets on its side will let you dock this hub by attaching it in a comfortable place where a piece of metal exists: your computer case, a metallic foot of your desk and pretty much anywhere.

Running at a 2.0 USB speed, this hub makes sure you won't feel any discomfort while working with it. As I've already said, this solution is insanely-simple, yet quite a space-saver and even easier to carry with your netbook. You can get it for less than $14 from webshops like this one.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
