An eyewitness claims to have spotted a vivid, healthy Steve Jobs walking out of Apple's Cupertino headquarters on January 31st. The experience is detailed on his blog, as originally reported by The San Francisco Chronicle.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs revealed in a January announcement that he had persuaded Apple’s board of directors to grant him a second medical leave of absence to focus on health problems.

Apple’s CEO is known to have undergone a liver transplant as a result of his battle with cancer years ago. At his last keynote presentation, Jobs was still visibly thin in appearance, all this fueling speculation that his cancer may have returned.

However, Matthew Cross, an author and consultant for banks, would beg to differ.

“I saw Steve personally this afternoon (Monday, January 31st, 2011) as he was leaving Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Needless to say, it was an unexpected delight to see the man in real life,” he writes on his Divine Code Blog.

As the story goes, Cross was preparing to embark a plane in a few hours, but had the inspiration to visit the Apple campus at 1 Infinite Loop to drop off a signed copy of his book, the paper reports.

The book reportedly mentions Jony Ive, Apple’s senior vice president of industrial design. In other words - the guy who makes Apple’s products look so good.

As Cross approached the main entrance of the Apple HQ, he saw Jobs just ten feet away talking on his iPhone as he had just exited the building.

No surprise there, right? After all, the man is still the CEO of Apple, the job he promised he’d fulfill even on medical leave.

Cross reportedly tried to had a conversation but Jobs was in a hurry and wouldn’t talk, the report notes.

“The one thing that really stood out […] (besides his trademark Levi’s, black mock turtleneck and sneakers) was the twinkle in Steve’s eyes and his full, genuine smile as he spoke on the phone,” Cross details on his blog.

“In spite of the media’s negative focus on his known health issues, one can only stand back and marvel at his tenacious spirit and absolute passion for his passion.”

“It was most inspiring to see you today in person, Steve. All our best to you and your family and Sanatate (Great Health to You, in Romanian)…” Cross concluded.
