A Guitar Made of 18K Gold and It's Not Paris Hilton Signature: Liquid Metal GGG #001

A guitar made from gold and not in the possession of Paris Hilton is indeed one interesting thing...at least until she decides she's a guitarist as well and gets such a fine piece of instrument art. Leaving Paris alone, here goes a nifty piece of news about guitars you don't meet every day: guitars whose bodies are made of metal! The Vancouver-based Liquid Metal Guitars (LMG) are the creators of one of the most intriguing axes you'd ever expect to see on stage... and we're not talking just the flashy mirrored guitars of the glamorous 80's, but something with a far more artsy nature.


Their guitars have hollow bodies made entirely from metal: this architecture was a natural choice, otherwise, nobody could lift these instruments from the ground let alone play them, except maybe for Superman or Hulk Hogan...and we don't want them to make music, do we?

If until now, the LMG guitars used to be made from aluminium plated with copper, then nickel and finally chrome, the newest and most amazing instrument from LMG, the GGG #001, is made of gold.

In case you're asking yourselves whether this construction solution has anything to do with sound, the answer the guys at Liquid Metal Guitars would give you is a firm "yes", as the shaping via CNC-machining, precise bending, buffing and metal trimming is done according to extremely strict standards in order to finally obtain a guitar body with perfect resonance and capable to deliver the full richness and great tone of the metal for your sound.
