After lots of teasing and no less than two trailers, we’re finally getting the first official teaser poster for Bruce Willis’ “A Good Day to Die Hard.” Click on the image above to see it in full.

As I also noted earlier today, the second trailer for the film (also occasionally referred to as that sequel that no one thought would be made) is even messier and more explosive than the first.

Somehow, very little of that energy has transpired into the first official poster.

While I (and other fans as well, I assume) can’t but appreciate the idea of simplicity and the not so subtle nod to earlier installments with “Yippie Ki Yay Mother Russia,” the execution falls a bit flat.

Perhaps if Willis’ face hadn’t been nearly Photoshopped into oblivion, this could have worked. As it is, it doesn’t really make me get all hyped up for it.

Luckily, I saw this trailer before so, yes, of course I will see it when it’s out in theaters in February 2014.
