Although we've come across plenty of high-end computer systems over time, in both mobile and desktop form factors, the one you'll read about as follows, namely the Hammerhead HMR989, really managed to leave us breathless, given the fact that it manages to combine an unique external design with some OK hardware components on the inside. Without a doubt, the main selling point the Hammerhead HMR989, designed and manufactured by DARWINmachine, has to offer is its extremely attractive case, built by hand from brushed, anodized aluminum and ecoresin.

Beside the strong visual impact the case provides, the HMR989 also delivers a good level of utility, since the components are laid out for easy access while the back panel is oriented downward for a clean look, while also being future-proof, since it supports the addition of extra components over time.

Moving on to the hardware components making up the Hammerhead HMR989, we first come across an 2.8Ghz Intel Core i7-860 CPU, accompanied by 4GB of RAM memory and one 40GB Intel solid state disk drive, for ultra-fast boot times.

The system also sports one 640GB front loaded "hot-swappable" hard drive, one extra hot-swap tray for a second hard drive, as well as an NVIDIA ENGTX460 graphics card, plus an optical CD/DVD drive, a Kingston 750W modular power supply and Windows 7 64-bit Home premium for an operating system.

In order to further underline the fact that we're talking about a very exclusive, limited-edition product, DARWINmachine points out that the Hammerhead HMR989 comes with a unique serial number, and each series is limited to a few runs.

Naturally, given the exquisite design and features this thing provides, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise the fact that's also pretty expensive, its price point starting somewhere in the vicinity of 2,900 US dollars.
