Hello and welcome to a new edition of A Gamer's Week, our own special feature where we recap the most important news from the gaming industry in the last seven days, as well as our own original content.

Once again we've been very busy here at Softpedia Games, posting two big reviews, for Orcs Must Die and Gears of War 3, as well as two quick look articles, one at Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and the other at Batman: Arkham City.

We've also posted two Weekend Reading articles, concerning hardcore gaming on the future Kindle Fire tablet, while the other looked at the flood of online and season passes for current generation games. Last but not least, you can also check out some new gamer diaries for Rage.

On Monday, we talked about Battlefield 3 and its new multiplayer maps, which were fully detailed by DICE, while the studio also confirmed that many of the game's issues were solved after the open beta stage ended.

Tuesday saw the release of the demo for Need for Speed: The Run, which was deployed onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Analysts also chimed in today to share their thoughts on the battle between EA's Battlefield 3 and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is great for the gaming industry because it generates increased sales both for consoles and PC hardware.

Wednesday, Warner Bros. published a special announcement concerning certain new copies of Batman: Arkham City, which were sold without the special Catwoman DLC codes. The publisher promised that these issues will be solved and customers are going to get their promised vouchers. EA talked about Battlefield 3 and how its upcoming PC release will be the first real test for its Origin digital distribution service, so it's more than ready to withstand the flood of new customers.

Thursday we were delighted to see the early launch trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, which makes the game look like a proper Hollywood blockbuster movie. Sony also revealed a special New Owners Kit for its PlayStation 3 console, which packs in a new DualShock 3 controller, an USB charger for it, as well as a HDMI cable, perfect for the upcoming release of Uncharted 3.

Friday we got a chance to examine a video about the all-new Strike Packages in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and how they'll help players no matter their preferred play styles. EA and BioWare also confirmed that a demo, for both the single-player and multiplayer mode of next year's Mass Effect 3, will be released in January, 2012, to show off the new features in the sci-fi role playing shooter.
