This week was all torn between strategic movement and tactical battles, which means we have a full review of Total War: Shogun 2, the latest game from The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA.

We also found time for some North Korean future conflict, with a full review of Homefront.

The THQ shooter also received a set of Gamer Diaries and we also continued to deliver our thoughts on Dragon Age 2, which shows that the game was pretty important even if we did not love it as much as Origins.

We also have a Weekend Reading piece up talking about how long developers and gamers expect to actually play a newly released video game and we also deliver a EndWeekGame article about our gaming habit.

And, as always, we deliver a round-up of the gaming news of the past week.

On Monday, AMD has attacked Microsoft and its DirectX package, saying that the full potential of PC gaming is held back by its use just as a new survey said that Mortal Kombat, Uncharted 3 and Gear of War 3 are the most attractive games of the coming months.

On Tuesday, Blizzard raised the possibility that some long-term World of Warcraft players might migrate to Diablo III when it is launched while analysts said that the Xbox 360 would continue to beat the PS3 in terms of sales this year.

Wednesday was patch day, with the recently launched Crysis 2 getting one that deals with the issue of auto aiming while Starcraft II, launched in 2010, got patch 1.3.0.

On Thursday, another set of rumors and websites that are linked to Gran Theft Auto V appeared, suggesting an imminent announcement coming from Rockstar, while a forward looking analyst said that Battlefield 3 has no chance to selling better than Call of Duty.

On Friday, the remake of a couple of Resident Evil games was confirmed while more information arrived about the Mass Effect 2 The Arrival DLC.
