This week, the review department of Softpedia games is launching long-form evaluations for titles like Pillars of Eternity, Bloodborne, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Ascendance.

We also have three Editorials dealing with the gaming word, one discussing the story potential of Halo 5: Guardians and its focus on Master Chief, another about the way Halo Online might be a success all over the world, and one that explores the potential of cloud gaming and the challenges it is facing.

The Gamer Diary series offers articles that explore particular aspects of titles like Pillars of Eternity, Bloodborne, Battlefield Hardline, and Cities: Skylines.

From Monday to Friday

On Monday, Microsoft officially announced that it was launching Halo 5: Guardians on October 27 on the Xbox One.

On the same day, more details emerged about Scholar of the First Sin for Dark Souls 2, and the Lykan Hypersport was revealed for Project CARS.

On Tuesday, a major patch was launched for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, whereas Ubisoft talked about the Assassin's Creed Chronicles series and the environments it would explore.

We also took a look at the cards from the Blackrock Mountain expansion for Hearthstone.

On Wednesday, new weapons were revealed for Battlefield 4; League of Legends got a new game mode, and the beta for Legacy of the Void for Starcraft 2 went live.

On Thursday, eSports action for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was revealed for the coming months, and the Xbox One update for cloud save arrived for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

At the same time, Nintendo talked about more games arriving in the coming months.

On Friday, Bungie offered details about strikes and raid changes for Destiny, and a new GTA V trailer shows some impressive gameplay moments.

OnLive is at the same time shutting down, with assets bought by Sony.

On Saturday, more details about the April update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection were offered, and the 1.03 patch for Pillars of Eternity went live.
