Another week has passed and we have a new series of diaries, linked to Total War: Shogun 2, the strategy game from SEGA and The Creative Assembly, and Crysis 2, from Crytek and Electronic Arts.We also have a
Weekend Reading feature that talks about how the Dragon Age series, no matter how it might progress, needs to give the player more real choices and more significant consequences linked to them and also an
EndWeekGame piece that goes a bit retro and talks about how mods like Third Age Total War can make an old Total War relevant again.
On top of all that, I also spent
One Hour With Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed.
And, as always, we scoured the week behind us and picked up some interesting pieces of news.
On Monday, we took a close look at the newly launched
Nintendo 3DS handheld, talking about how good and easy to sustain the three-dimensional effect is, but we also talked about new downloadable content for
Fight Night Champion, which includes more fighters and new modes.
Tuesday was the day when Crytek talked about a new patch for their first-person shooter
Crysis 2, aiming to fix all issues that players reported since the game launched, while Nintendo made some statements about the problems that
the 3DS had when launched in North America and Europe.
On Wednesday, some hints about a big Call of Duty announcement came out, with April seeing more information offered on a possible
Modern Warfare 3, while another big franchise,
Grand Theft Auto, spawned another round of rumors about the next installment.
On Thursday, Microsoft suggested that the new disk format for the
Xbox 360 might offer more space while Epic Games talked about
Gears of War 3, saying that it would deliver less new features but more quality.
On Friday,
Crysis 2 again got a small fix while Capcom announced that
Mega Man Universe had been canceled.
