Shortly after the release of Pear OS 8 Alpha 2, David Tavares was proud to announce that a new welcome screen would be available in the upcoming Pear OS 8 Linux operating system.

As you can see from the image gallery below, David Tavares was happy to share with us some screenshots of the brand-new welcome screen that would appear right after the installation of Pear OS 8, on the first boot.

The welcome screen has the same light and flat design inspired by the upcoming iOS 7 mobile operating system from Apple, and will provide information about My Pear 6, Pear Security, Pear PPA Manager and Clean My Pear 2 apps, as well as a brief introduction of the main desktop.

"A new welcome screen will be available after the first boot Pear OS 8 after installation. It will tell you the new features and programs included in Pear OS 8," said David Tavares in a short blog announcement.

The latest development release of Pear OS 8 is Alpha 2 and can be downloaded right now from Softpedia. However, keep in mind that this is an alpha version and it should not be installed on production machines.
