Motorola DROID, the smartphone distributed exclusively by Verizon Wireless, is the CDMA version of the older Motorola MILESTONE. If you're one of those users that wants to enjoy working with their device fast and smooth, here are a few tips that will help you master the first DROID handset manufactured by Motorola.

The first tip is easy is referring to saving new contacts or email addresses that you get in a SMS message. Just click and hold on that number or email and choose Save from the next window displaying on the screen.

Something similar can be done with pictures that you get as MMSs. Just click and hold on the picture to save it, or if you wish to save it later, just forward the MMS to your email account. Next time you check your email simply click and hold on the picture to save it.

If you bought yourself a Motorola DROID smartphone, you will notice a special application called RingDroid. The app can be used to crop MP3 files, so you can use it as ringtones, alarm or notification sounds.

Also, the Facebook application which comes pre-installed on DROID, offers you the possibility to quickly add your friends to the Contact list, if they have their numbers listed in their Facebook profiles. This is a pretty neat feature that doesn't require any other third-party application.

To set up a -one-touch dialing for any of the contacts you wish, just go to home menu and press and hold until the shortcut menu is displayed on the screen. Then choose the number or person you would like to call with only one touch.

To enhance the security of your device, you can set a password to lock the phone. Simply go to Menu / Settings / Location & Security / Change unlock pattern. Choose the pattern you want and don't forget it.
