An app developer and a director from the United States are getting ready to release a documentary about how apps got to be a cultural phenomenon. "App: The Human Story" will be released in 2015 if it reaches its goal on Kickstarter.

When Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone in 2007, the way software developers were perceived started to change. It all went from "only nerds buy apps" to "everyone wants apps for their iPhone."

Jake Schumacher and Jedidiah Hurt want to capture this moment in history so they've started interviewing famous Apple writers and bloggers along with the developers of some of the best apps in the AppStore. The creators say they have been working on the film for about a year and now they want tofinish it by the end of 2015.

The cast is just amazing. Among other great people involved with Apple-related projects, you will find:
– John Gruber, the brain and the keyboard behind the website Daring Fireball and the creator of note-taking app - Vesper.
– Marco Arment is the creator of Instapaper, The Magazine and a long-awaited Podcast app.
– Jean MacDonald was the PR person for Smile, the creators of PDFPen+ and TextExpander. Now she is in charge of "App Camp for Girls."
– Adam Lisagor of Sandwich Video has shot some of the best commercials for apps and gadgets.
– Jason Snell, the Tech writer from Macworld Magazine.
– Sebastiaan de With is a great icon and graphics designer.

The creators of this documentary seek to raise $100,000 until July 31, 2014. There are 17 different rewards depending on the amount of money you pledge for this project.

The lower one that will get you a copy of the movie is $25. Besides the 1080p version of it, you will also receive a digital photo documentary and a making of.

Another reward that is worth the money would be the $50 one – Single App Story. The backer will be able to download all the interviews on a certain topic or app. If you pay an extra $25, you'll get all the interviews for three apps.

One of the best and less expensive options is the $300 one. You will get the complete app archive including the director's commentary and cast commentary and, best of all, an opportunity to see the film in a special screening, before the release.

Here's this project's video on Kickstarter. Make sure to watch it and go pledge for it if you believe in it.
