Like all other technologies, storage has evolved extensively over the past years and has reached a point where performance and capacity are no longer the deciding factors in the choosing of a new product. With performance levels being generally more than satisfactory, at least to a certain degree, end-users find that, in the end, the design of a portable flash drive, HDD or SSD, along with the price, are the main elements that determine a product's appeal. Fully aware of this, A-Data created its CH94 portable HDD lineup, which has now reached European stores.

The storage-solution developer officially introduced its CH94 hard disk drive family around the middle of January. These drives were built with multiple storage capacities, but stood out from the crowd through their choice of coloring.

In order to appeal to the different tastes of all kinds of buyers, the line has models colored not just black and white, but also pink and aqua blue. In addition, for a maximum portability, all units measure 130.6 (L) x 86.8 (W) x 14.5 (H) mm and weigh 172 grams. As for actual product specifications, the devices run at 5400RPM and have an 8MB cache memory.

In order to cover multiple price points and the different storage requirements of the various consumer segments, the CH94 HDDs can have storage capacities equal to 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and even 640GB. All models are designed for the USB 2.0 interface, but are also backwards compatible with USB 1.1 ports. Lastly, the products are bundled with colored adhesive letters and stickers, so that each person may personalize or label it according to their own desire.

The A-Data CH94 portable HDDs are selling in Europe now, at prices of 49 Euro for the 200GB model, of 54.90 Euro for the 320GB version, of 74.90 Euro for the 500GB device and of 94.90 Euro for the 640GB unit. All are backed by a three-year warranty.
