A-Data has just launched its very first micro hard drive. Coming in a stylized cube shape and with a length of less than 5cm, this pocket USB hard drive also includes ergonomic features such as a clever 180-degree revolving USB connector. The fact that the connector can be retracted or revolved depending on the needs makes this tiny flash device become even more attractive since it can be stored virtually anywhere.

The 12GB wonder coming from A-Data allows you to carry all your precious data with you (provided you don't also want to carry your mp3 collection around). The drive also incorporates back-up software with a simple and intuitive user interface; with the touch of a button, you can perform a full data back-up or file synchronization. The software also provides scheduled automatic back-up function in case you forget to manually back-up de data.

The little fellow provides versatility as the One-touch-button for Synchronized Backup function seems to help a lot. The Aluminum Coated Housing proves that a micro hard drive of such a capacity can also look good. The drive performs well on various OSes but not excellent and it will work wherever you can find a Desktop or Laptop with an USB Port, but only Windows supports the Synchronized Backup Software.

The gadget also works with Mac OS 9.X or later and also with Linux Kernel 2.4 or later but you will need a driver for the device to be recognized on your Mac. Linux however sees it as a mass storage device so plug it in and it will simply work. The A-Data Cube also comes with an installation CD which contains the drivers and with an extension USB cable. Limited warranty is offered by the producer along with a price tag of $124.95.
