The age of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 dominance must truly be approaching, considering how often companies choose to reveal external storage solutions compatible with this standard. Obviously, the bandwidth of 5Gbps is more than fit to become an object of desire. Knowing this, A-Data Technology has once again taken the microphone and revealed that it would soon bring out a new such solution, though the nature of it will slightly differ from that of its predecessors.

In short, A-Data is preparing for the arrival of the Nobility NH03 USB 3.0 external hard drive. This, of course, won't be the first and, definitely, not the last such platter-spinner to make it to market. Still, A-Data managed to make it stand out somewhat through its unique chassis design and better cooling.

All in all, the Nobility NH30 measures 150 x 48 x 178 mm, weighs 1 kg and has an 'innovative' chassis design, with literal twists and turns, that improves ventilation. This is a significant asset, especially for a unit of such high capacity as this. To be more specific, A-Data has readied models of 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB. Granted, it doesn't exactly match Seagate's 3TB monstrosity but, then again, no other solution has either. As for actual transfer speeds, the drive communicates at up to 140MB/s. This is the equivalent of a 418% improvement over USB 2.0

It should probably be noted that, as a bonus, A-Data threw in 256-bit AES encryption. This should help protect the extensive and, possibly, sensitive contents of the device against unauthorized access. Furthermore, a special button is built into the enclosure, by means of which the one-touch backup function can be taken advantage of. Unfortunately, though it was revealed that a three-year warranty would accompany them, the 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB drives were not given prices or a release date.
