Dual-channel and triple-channel kits optimized for Intel platforms

Since all the other RAM players, G.Skill, Patriot and Corsair included, have already turned heads with their ultra-high-speed memory products, it would have been unusual for A-Data to stay silent and not show off a product of their own. Still, the company chose not to do anything too extraordinary, possibly sharing OCZ's view that high-speed dual-channel memory is unnecessary. Taking the middle way, as it were, the Taiwanese memory maker has brought out the Gaming Series DDR3-2000G and DDR3-2000G v2.0.

As their names imply, the dual channel and triple-channel kits run at a frequency of 2,000MHz, which is still much higher than any mainstream or high-end rig is likely to require. In fact, only overclocking enthusiasts will have a use for these products, since there aren't many, if any, games that absolutely rely on clocks of over 1,333MHz, as long as the amount of RAM itself is decent.

The DDR3-2000G dual-channel kit is of 4GB (2x2GB), whereas the DDR3-200G v2.0 is a 6GB (3x2GB) triple-channel. All modules use 2oz copper 8-layer PCBs and, at their base clocks, function at latencies of 9-9-9-24. It is interesting to note that this performance is achievable on voltages between 1.55V and 1.75V. In addition, they boast aluminum heatspreaders with increased surface area and are optimized for 64-bit operating systems and Intel P55, X58 and H55-based systems.

“A-Data is the leader in the reliable and high performance DRAM module,” said Richard Shen, manager of A-Data product management department. “Demand for fast speed combined with high stability DRAM module continues to increase and A-Data is the leader in this field. Gaming enthusiasts can rely on the new XPG Gaming Series DDR3-2000G DRAM module to achieve high speed and stability under the critical environment, while they continue to enjoy the ultimate gaming experiences.”

Unfortunately, no details were provided on the availability and pricing of these newcomers, though it was revealed that both kits are backed by a lifetime warranty.
