Portable storage is becoming a trend and flash drives are far from being the only viable solutions. These devices only have their diminutive size as an advantage over other solutions such as hard drives or solid state drives. Portable hard drives boast a significantly larger storage capacity and A-Data is now offering a new model known as the CH94.

The new series of drives includes models with storage capabilities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB and comes in multiple colors. The models can be colored in aqua blue, pink, black and white and measure 130.6 x 86.8 x 14.5mm. The products’ weight is of only 172g, which makes them quite easy to carry. All the models make use of the USB 2.0 interface, but are backwards compatible with USB 1.1.

Even though they do not support the latest USB 3.0 standard, with transfer speeds up to ten times better than those of the 2.0 version, the CH94 portable hard drives will still meet end-users’ needs for an easy storage and transferring data between multiple PCs. In addition, the products have several design features, which make them easy to use and aesthetically appealing. These features include a wrap-around USB cable and the ability to customize the drives with self-adhesive English character stickers.

To convince its customers of the reliability of its product, A-Data is offering buyers of the CH94 the opportunity to download value-add software HDDtoGO, OStoGO (no registration required), and Norton Internet Security 2010 (60-day trial) for free. Finally, the portable hard drive is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Mac OS X 10.4 and Linux Kernel 2.4.

The multicolored hard drives are already listed by European stores and come with price tags of 49.30 Euro for the 250GB model, of 56.09 Euro for the 320GB drive, of 77.49 Euro for the 500GB version and of 105 Euro for the more capacious 640GB CH94. All models come with a three-year product warranty.
