During this year's CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany, A-DATA had a number of new products on display, including that high-end XPG SSD boasting 512GB of storage space. Aside from the impressive XPG SSD, A-DATA decided to announce a new high-end SSD product that delivers half the storage capacity provided by the XPG SSD, but with a high level of performance.
The new A-DATA 2.5-inch SATA II SSD 300 Plus offers a 40-percent increase for data reading and 60-percent increase in write speeds, compared to standard SSDs.

With the new solution, users will be able to take advantage of up to 256GB of storage space with specified sustained read rates of 250MB/s and write speeds of 160MB/s. In addition, the SSD 300 Plus also boasts a built-in 64MB of mobile SDRAM that acts as a cache buffer enabling a faster access speed to frequently used applications. With the new drive users will see a significant increase in performance for their desktop or portable computer system.

Despite no word on pricing and availability for the time being, the memory company announced that its new 2.5-inch SATA II 300 Plus solution would be available with capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The wide range of capacity offerings allows end-users to choose the solution that best fits their requirements.

Unlike traditional hard drives, SSDs provide users with a lightweight, power efficient and high-performance storage solution that can also come with lower thermal specifications. A-DATA's 2.5-inch 256GB product is capable of replacing the hard-drive in your high-end laptop, consequently enabling a higher level of performance.

The market for SSDs has increased significantly over the past year, with new technologies enabling higher performance and more affordable solutions.
