Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia has just unveiled a new entertainment device for its users, the Nokia X7, a smartphone that runs under the company's new Symbian Anna operating system, and which should arrive on shelves before the end of the second quarter of the year. The Nokia X7 was unveiled on Tuesday as the first entertainment smartphone from the company to come to the market with a 4-inch touchscreen display, measuring 119.7 x 62.8 x 11.9 mm and weighing in at 146 g.

The 16:9 nHD (640 x 360 pixels) AMOLED capacitive touchscreen should prove great for multimedia entertainment on the go, that's for sure, especially since it was complemented by four speakers, placed at each of its corners.

The mobile phone comes with 1GB ROM (up to 350MB of user available memory), and with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (an 8 GB microSD card included in the package).

On the back, the Nokia X7 sports an 8 megapixel photo snapper with full focus, dual LED flash and HD quality 720p resolution video capture capabilities (720p 25 fps with codecs H.264, MPEG-4).

When launched, the new device would sport GPRS/EDGE class B, multislot class 33 and HSDPA Cat9, maximum speed up to 10.2 Mbps connectivity (GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900; WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100)

It would also arrive with WLAN IEEE802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro USB connector and charging, 3.5 mm standard audio connector, and FM Radio capabilities, as well as with a built-in GPS receiver.

The features list of the new device would include Ovi Maps with free car and pedestrian navigation, Full web browsing of real web pages, HTML and JavaScript support, Flash Lite 4, or Ovi by Nokia Social client with Facebook and Twitter access.

The mobile phone would offer fast access to various services, such as Ovi Music Unlimited, Ovi Maps, YouTube, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live, Hotmail and other popular POP/IMAP services, Mail for Exchange, IBM Lotus traveler, as well as to application available in the Ovi Store.

The mobile phone also comes with Orientation sensor (Accelerometer), Proximity sensor, and Ambient light detector. Dedicated camera and volume keys, capacitive stylus, and other features more.

The handset is powered by a BL-5K 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery that can deliver up to 6 h 30 min talk time on GSM networks (4 h 30 min on WCDMA), or 450 hours of standby time. It would also support up to 6 h of Video playback time (H.264 720p, 30 fps), or up to 50 h of Music playback time (offline mode).
