A new 4G device is on its way to Sprint's network, the HTC EVO View 4G, the very first tablet PC to be included in the carrier's EVO series. Officially introduced during an event held at the CTIA Wireless expo in Orlando, Florida, the new device should be released on Sprint's airwaves sometime in summer, but exact details on its availability are not available for the time being.

The HTC EVO View 4G is nothing else than Sprint's own flavor of HTC Flyer, the Android-based tablet PC that the Taiwanese handset vendor announced officially during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The device comes with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen display on board, with pinch-to-zoom capabilities, and the ability to render HD-quality video, and to offer a rich Web browsing experience.

The screen's capabilities are complemented by the included HTC Scribe Technology, along with the HTC Scribe digital pen (sold separately), which offer new ways to interact with the tablet PC.

The tablet PC also includes a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, which is complemented by 1GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space).

The new device can shoot photos courtesy of its 5.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with HD (720p) video camcorder on the back, and can also sustain video chats through the forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera.

The specs list of the new device also includes 4G data speeds (WiMAX), up to over 10 Mbps on the downlink, 3G data speeds (EVDO Rev A.), Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Integrated GPS, Stereo Bluetooth 3.0, or 3.5 mm stereo headset jack.

The HTC EVO View 4G was also packed with 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability, so that users can share connectivity to up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.

It would also support corporate email (Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync), personal (POP & IMAP) email and instant messaging.

The new device measures 7.7 inches (195.4 mm) x 4.4 inches (112.5 mm) x 0.5 inches (13.2 mm) and weighs in at 14.88 ounces (421.84 grams). It packs a 4000 mAh Lithium-ion battery inside.

In addition to access to the over 150,000 applications in the Android Market, the tablet PC would also offer support for various Google Mobile Services, including Google Search, GmailGoogle Maps with Navigation, Voice Actions and YouTube.

Sprint also announced that the device would arrive preloaded with Sprint Zone, Sprint Mobile Wallet, Sprint Football Live, Sprint Family Locator, Sprint Navigation and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile, as well as with Blockbuster On Demand and the Qik mobile app for video chat.
