A Bug's Life. Hints and Secrets (PC)

Flik is an odd, inventive ant who is desperate to make a difference to his colony's way of life, but tends to make things worse in the process. His inventions include a telescope created by wrapping a blade of grass around a dewdrop, an automatic harvester, several items of traveler's gear, and the bird-shaped aircraft used to terrify the grasshoppers. He is suggested to have a soft spot for Princess Atta. He is voiced by Dave Foley.

The story of A Bug's Life (the animated film) is a parody of Aesop's fable of The Ant and the Grasshopper. It is similar to the comedy ¡Three Amigos!, which is about out-of-work actors defending a town, while thinking they're merely giving a performance. It also gives an obvious nod to Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (as well as its Hollywood remake, The Magnificent Seven), which is about Japanese villagers hiring a rag-tag group of swordsmen to fight off rampaging bandits.

Gameplay Hints

Unlimited lives:
Return to training level and find the letters to spell "FLIK" to gain a bonus life. Repeat this to obtain as many lives as needed before resuming the regular game.

Secrets

Hidden training level:
Begin game play in the training level and finish all of Mr. Soil's objectives. Then, bounce on all the spiders to kill them in order to reach a hidden level. Complete this new level to view three FMV sequences.

Bonus levels:
There are three bonus levels in the game. For the first, abdomen bounce three to five bugs without missing one in a level. In the Tunnels level, get the blueberry and kill five grasshoppers without missing one. For the third, in the Clover Forest level, line five mushrooms up in the beginning and hop from one to the other without touching the ground. Make sure you bounce once on each of them. Finish the Bug Circus, and you will get a new FMV sequence after each one.
