The rumor falls in line with Tim Cook’s comments from April 23

A source responsible for accurate predictions in the past has revealed that “Apple is preparing to unleash a blizzard of new products,” and the first clues are likely to be dropped at WWDC 2013.

A source who has been correct about Apple’s offerings in the past tells MacDailyNews that the Cupertino giant is gearing up to “unleash a blizzard of new products,” adding, “Think of this period in Apple’s history as the calm before the storm.”

“What looks like a long pause from the outside is really a beehive of frenzied activity inside Apple; the big windup,” the source added.

Apple’s existing products will see hardware upgrades, “but entirely new product categories – plural – are being explored at Apple,” the report reads.

“It sounds trite, but, really, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. WWDC is likely to deliver some clues,” the source says.

The report cautions that the info comes from a single source without other (independent) confirmations, therefore labels it as a rumor.

However, the site interestingly points out that this is the same source who leaked information pertaining to Apple’s switch from iPhone OS to iOS in early 2010. The rumor turned out 100% accurate.

Where do you put that Tim Cook himself said pretty much the same thing, with just as many epithets, during yesterday’s earnings call:

“Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware and services we can’t wait introduce this fall and throughout 2014,” said Apple’s CEO.

In fact, Cook couldn’t stress this enough, saying “I don’t want to be more specific, but I’m just saying we’ve got some really great stuff coming in the fall and all across 2014.”

Calm before the storm? Sure, we’ll take it. It sounds pretty legitimate, especially when compared with the dramatic rumors at the other end of the spectrum.
