The author of Michael Jackson's biography "Michael Jackson: The Man Behind The Mask", Stacy Brown, declared that a black jury would have sent Michael in prison. Stacy believes the superstar is not so popular among African-Americans, because of the way he has snubbed his own kind - and only turned to them when he needed their support.
Brown says: "The defense team knew what they were doing. I think if that trial had been moved so that there were more black people on the jury, Michael Jackson would be in prison right now."
Stacy affirms that civil rights activists like Al Sharpton and Rev Jesse Jackson didn't do him a favor when they voiced their disgust at the jury selection, which didn't include a single African-American.
Meanwhile, the author suggests Jackson "buys" friends like Liz Taylor because he cares deeply about what they think of him.
Stacy stated that the pop star's friendship with movie icon Elizabeth Taylor isn't for real, arguing he buys her jewelery so she'll say nice things about him.
"Taylor always comes across as a genuine friend but that friendship is bought and paid for. Michael buys her jewelery from all over the world and she says good things about him," she was quoted as saying.
"Most people don't care what Elizabeth Taylor has to say about anyone but he (Jackson) has this fascination with her and people like Liza Minnelli. He equates them with royalty - something which he equates himself to as well," she added.
