The only thing we know for sure is that the game will be launched "soon"

First of all, for some time now, the game we're talking about is called Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge, it was before called Jazz: Hired Guns Mercenaries and it actually is (or it should be) nothing but Jagged Alliance 3. The good news is that the Russian developers GFI are still working on the project. The bad news is the game doesn't have too much in common with the first two titles - or so it seems, judging from the tanks we can see in the newly released screenshots.

Another bad news is that informations regarding the game are pretty scarce - the only thing we know for sure is that Game Factory Interactive has signed a three year agreement with the developers and it is going to release the game in the Polish territory. And everything will happen "soon". Well, thank you, but I wanted to know much more.

The game puts you in command of a squad of specialists for hire in the genre's biggest game-world - so say the devs. You will have to choose your friends wisely, buy an army of ruthless mercenaries and unleash mayhem on the African countryside. Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge has multiple story lines and endings, which means that you are in total control of your own fate. Will you have the beloved Ivan at your disposal? Or maybe Lynx, Barrie or some other mercenaries from the previous games? Probably not - even though an old screenshot released in 2006 presents Ivan hiding somewhere behind a tree. But many things have changed ever since.

We have tanks, at the moment - lots of tanks and apparently no mercenaries. The game is still going to be a turn based strategy, which means that maybe - just maybe and I pray to the Lord that's true - the developers just made a mistake and sent some screenshots from a totally different game. I and all the fans of the Jagged Alliance series want Ivan and Co. back, I want the immortal Elliot, stupid Elliot back... not tanks and strategic/critical/location/whatever points as in every strategy nowadays. Or at least some more information, God damn it!
