Put your gaming skills to the test

3D graphics has always been the source of well inspired games, because it gives the player the opportunity to expand his point of view and get a good grasp on depth perception. The tricky thing is that such titles have started to take advantage of the way things look from different angles and how perception changes from one point in space to another, and this is how adventure and even puzzle games have taken birth.

Mulver relies on a 3D graphical engine that is more than competent when it comes to rendering movement and dynamic objects such as sliding platforms or crawling monsters. This gives the game a somewhat addicting nature, especially when it is combined with a smooth and colorful environmental texture. The title impresses through both simplicity of the design and complexity of each level.

As you advance in the game, you will find yourself in the situation where you will have to time and coordinate your jumps to the second so that you can make it from one platform to another. It's as if  you have to press and hold different key combinations with mathematical precision, just so that you can just jump from one beam to another. As if this wasn't enough, there are always some traps and moving monsters that wait for you to make a mistake.

You might be inclined to think that a 15-level game is an easy-to-add notch on your belt. Think again, because Mulver uses every trick in the book to keep you stuck on a certain level. Not even the secret ones are as easy you might think. Puzzles after puzzles, combined with finger gymnastics on your keyboard will make you curse the day you got hooked on the game. Still, after you complete each level, there is nothing more rewarding than going through the same pain all over again on the next one.

I'm not complaining, this is actually a good thing, considering that most of us come from a long line of RPG or FPS games. Mulver manages to make you release your everyday tension and, instead of focusing on shooting mindless monsters or dodging bullets, you actually put your mind to the test into figuring out how to complete the levels.

On an overall note, Mulver is a fun 3D game that can be played by both adults and children. Your kids will be impressed by the colorful and dynamic world, while you will be fixated on completing each level with a high score.
