One would think that $159.99 / €159.99 would be too much to pay for a headset, and they'd be right if the new product from SteelSeries weren't a high-end gaming headset.

Called the 9H Gaming Headset, the product has premium driver units, a high-grade mylar nylon film over the speakers, passive noise reduction (extra-padded leather ear cushions), and a retractable microphone.

The audio drivers are “powerful, tournament-grade” and have a wide dynamic range. The 9H also happens to be deceptively light.

Furthermore, the new SteelSeries audio device boasts Dolby Digital sound (audio simulation of up to 7.1 channels, making it feel as though you're in a cinema), Dolby Headphone and Dolby Prologic IIx technology (smooth surround sound with multiple listening modes).

As for the overall design, it involves very large earcups and a black with orange color theme.
