99 Levels To Hell, a platform shooter developed and published by Zaxis Games and B-evil, will be released on Steam for Linux.

It seems that the Linux platform is the perfect home for platform 2D shooters, and 99 Levels To Hell will fit right in.

“99 Levels to Hell is a platform shooter with lots of guns, upgrades, magic, traps and monsters to kill. When you complete 10 levels, the 10th being a boss-fight you unlock a door to the next dungeon,” reads the official synopsis.

The game is also rogue-like, which means that you will get new levels and new challenges every time you start from the beginning.

The Linux hardware requirements are not exactly low: Intel Core i5 2410M 2.30Ghz, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics Family, and 1140 MB available space. Also, for a 64-bit system you will need to install ia32libs.

The game is set to launch in two weeks, on February 19. More details about this title are available on the Steam website.
