Christmas may be weeks away, but this does not mean that Santa's helpers aren't already busy delivering gifts to well-behaved boys and girls all around the world. The thing is that, apparently, it was Santa's more rebellious helpers who decided to jump the gun on making people happy.

Thus, word has it that, earlier this week, an impressive 90 pounds (about 41 kilograms) of marijuana were delivered to a clothing store in Pennsylvania, US. Apparently, somebody assumed that weed goes with just about any outfit. Unfortunately, the store's manager disagreed.

They made the same mistake twice

As mentioned, this incident occurred in Pennsylvania, US. Information shared with the public by the police officers investigating this case say that, this past Tuesday, a total of 60 pounds (about 27 kilograms) of marijuana were mistakenly delivered to the City Blue clothing store in Upper Darby.

The weed was delivered to the store carefully wrapped in two neat packages, Daily Mail informs. Come Wednesday, a third package was sent to keep these other two company. Like its buddies, this third package contained 30 pounds (roughly 14 kilograms) of weed.

Having discovered these packages, the clothing store's manager saw fit to alert the police. Officers were quick to report to the area and inspect the merchandise. It was thus discovered that the marijuana delivered to this store in Pennsylvania wasn't just any weed. On the contrary, it was high grade.

It is believed that, had the marijuana made it to the correct address, it would have been sold for about $3,000 (some €2,400) per pound. This means that, all in all, the weed mistakenly delivered to the clothing store in Pennsylvania came with a price tag of $270,000 (some €215,000).

Catching the culprits

It is understood that police officers in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, know whom the three packages were really meant for and are now busy trying to track down this person who wanted to sell the marijuana. They hope that, soon enough, they will also identify and locate the people who sent the weed.

Interestingly enough, it appears that, during the holiday season, dealers take a sudden liking to delivering their drugs by mail. This is because regular folks send a heck lot of packages during this time of the year, which means they have better chances not to get caught.

“It's the Christmas season, more and more packages are being delivered so more and more attempts are being made to deliver whether it's cocaine, heroin and marijuana,” Supt. Michael Chitwood with the Upper Darby Police told the press in an interview.
