Microsoft has pushed hard for Windows 10 users to install the Anniversary Update, highlighting its capabilities every once in a while, and it looks like all these efforts are finally paying off.

Statistics provided by AdDuplex for the month of February show that no less than 90.3 percent of all Windows 10 desktop computers are already running the Anniversary Update, which is the newest version of the operating system currently available to users. This represents a 4 percent increase over December figures, AdDuplex notes.

Windows 10 version 1511 (November Update) is powering 7 percent of Windows 10 PCs, while the original Windows 10 version is only on 2.1 percent of systems. 0. 6 percent of devices have already been updated to Windows 10 Creators Update preview builds thanks to users participating in the Windows Insider program.

While bringing users fully up to date is quite an important achievement for Microsoft, it’s also important to note that manufacturers are also playing a key role, as they are bringing new Windows 10 PCs to the market, many of which are already running the Anniversary Update.

According to AdDuplex, HP is currently the number one Windows 10 PC manufacturer with 23.8 percent, while Dell is the runner-up with 13.8 percent. Lenovo and Asus are next with 12 and 10.1 percent, respectively, while Microsoft is far behind with just 2.5 percent.

Microsoft is also preparing to launch a new Windows 10 update called Creators Update, which is already in preview stage and being tested with help from insiders.

The Creators Update is currently feature-complete, which means that no new features are being added, so Microsoft is working at full speed on fixing bugs and improving performance.

The company has said it plans to launch the Creators Update in the spring, but according to people close to the matter, the firm is likely to take the wraps off the new OS update as soon as April.
