Back in November 2008, a little girl named Daisy Morris helped uncovered some dinosaur fossil remains on the Isle of Wight.

More precisely, this girl and her family were the ones who stumbled upon these dinosaur fossilized bones near the foot of a cliff and who recovered them. Recent news on this topic says that, following investigations carried out by paleontologists, it was revealed that some of these remains belonged to a previously undocumented species.

Seeing how she helped uncover these fossils, Daisy Morris was given the honor of lending her name to this newly discovered dinosaurs species, which is believed to have roamed the skies roughly 115 million years ago.

Long story short, the small pterosaur (i.e. a toothless creature fairly similar to a bird) the 9-year-old and her family came across will from now on be referred to as Vectidraco daisymorrisae.

Sources say that this name translates as follows: “Daisy Morris's Isle of Wight Dragon.”
