Though health experts simply can’t warn women enough of the dangers of wearing high heel shoes all the time, demand for them is increasing: and women want them higher and higher. Enter the Sky Heel Shoe.

As the British publication the Daily Mail informs, Sky Heel will be the tallest shoe available in stores in the UK, measuring an incredible 9 inches. For some women, that is a dream come true.

The shoe’s makers say they wanted to take it to new heights (literally) by public demand, because they already have other versions for it, which are more appropriate for the regular woman.

However, given certain celebrities’ penchant for this type of shoes, like Lady Gaga and Victoria Beckham, they decided to push the envelope – and boldly go where no other shoe has gone before.

“The Sky Heel was fuelled by customer demand to mimic the celebrity look. We’ve seen the five-inch and six-inch, and we’ve even seen the seven-inch heel,” a spokesperson for the makers says.

“The trend is bigger, bigger, bigger – and the Sky Heel is the biggest of them all,” the same rep says of the shoe, which has been “inspired by the catwalk for the sidewalk.”

Women who love this type of shoes (meaning, incredibly high) will also love this: Sky Heel won’t be burning a hole in their pocket when it comes out, since it will be priced under $100 a pair.

As a side note, the low price tag has already prompted some online gags about how the rest of the money can be put aside in a special account for treating injuries stemming from falls from such great heights.

The Sky Heel will also be trendy – as it will be available in sparkly red or gold, the Mail further reports. No word yet on when it’s expected to come out, or on which retailer will carry it.
