8StartButton is one of the first apps that got updated to work on Microsoft’s new Windows 8.1 Preview, as many users out there aren’t really satisfied with the company’s modern Start button that gets them to the Start screen.

As a result, 8StartButton is enjoying quite an impressive success, so developers behind the project are trying to update it as often as possible.

Version 2.2.0 was officially released today and brings improved “Start area” detection on Windows 8.1, as well as several changes and updates to the “Don’t use a Start button” feature. At the same time, it comprises revised language files, while also adding an error logging tool.

Improved right-click detection to open the context menu if no Start button is used is also part of the new version, according to the official release notes.
