Fans of the “Game of Thrones” series are aware that, at the moment, their favorite TV show is filming the next season somewhere in Spain. And because this is such a big production, often depicting epic fight scenes, a local production company decided to put out an announcement in order to find some people for 600 extra roles.

Fresco Film had no idea how huge the response would be when they posted a job application for several hundreds of roles to fill in some scenes HBO needed on the show. Literally tens of thousands of Spaniards, 86,000 to be precise, immediately took to the site to sign up, promptly crashing the servers.

And don't think it was just people who were strapped for cash that hurried to apply. According to Entertainment Weekly, there was even one high ranking bank official who confessed to being a die-hard fan and who had taken a vacation from his job in order to be able to appear for the role.

The locals are also hoping that the show “Game of Thrones” will be a boost to their local economy and their tourism, like it's managed to do in other countries where it shot episodes, like Croatia and Ireland.

Meanwhile, they're dying to get onto the set. People who came on the set were said to have been so desperate that they even took photos with extras, simply because they wore clothes with the proper markings of the different houses.
