There are many sorts of power supplies on the market, at least as far as energy efficiency goes, and Scythe seems to have focused on the mainstream market when it built the Gouriki 3 PSUs.

When making power supplies nowadays, companies seem to be doing their best to ensure that every new models has at least a decent level of energy efficiency.

Granted, low-end PSUs still often come without any sort of 80Plus rating, but those from the mid-end upwards usually do fit some criteria.

Most mainstream models make do with 80Plus Bronze certification, since anything more in terms of efficiency adds more cost that the bulk of the consumer market can afford.

It is this sort of PSUs that Scythe has now supplied the IT industry with, the line being known as Gouriki 3 Series.

It is composed of six members, three of which use a modular design while the others are non-modular.

Basically, there are three power output options, each of which is available as a modular and a non modular device.

To be more specific, 500W, 600W and 700W PSUs exist, all of which have dual 12V rails, compatibility with the ATX 12V v2.3 standard and PWM fans.

The spinners are all 140mm Slip Stream PWM propellers whose rotary speed depends on the internal PSU temperature and the load.

The standard (non-module) Scythe Gouriki 3 power supplies of 500W, 600W and 700W have prices of 65 Euro, 72 Euro and 85 Euro, respectively, while their modular equivalents sell for 72 Euro, 79 Euro and 92 Euro, respectively. The prices do not include VAT.

All are accompanied by a three-year warranty and have an efficiency of up to 89%. Those that want a clear look at all available information need only drop by this particular and very official web page.
