8 Zip is one of the most powerful compression tools that’s aimed at the Modern UI of Windows 8 and, even though it doesn’t come with a freeware license, plenty of users are now running it.
A new build that came out today packs advanced compression options which get 8 Zip closer to the traditional compression apps already available in the desktop side of Windows.
It also features a built-in viewer that lets you quickly access some of the files included in the archives you’re trying to work with.
Otherwise, 8 Zip remains the same great app as before, packing support for quite a lot of archive formats, including RAR, ZIP, 7z, ISO, TAR, ARJ, and CAB. Windows 8 integration is also available to quickly share and search archives.
